LA Kings Pro-Competition Camp

July 17-21, 2017

UC Santa Barbara

Camp is limited to 80 participants!

  • Youth players, birth years 2002-2008
  • Split into 4 groups of 20 divided by age (02-04, 05-06, 07s and 08s)
  • To be run by LA Kings Alumni and 10 Counselors
  • Competition style camp which would include a 3v3 tournament and field sports tournament. Winning teams receive great prizes!
  •  All campers and staff would stay in UCSB dorms Monday night through Thursday night

Daily On Ice Curriculum

  • 1 hour 15 mins of hockey skills
  • 1 hour of power skating
  • 1 hour of 3v3 tournament
  • Specialized goalie instruction each ice-session

Off Ice Curriculum

  • 1 hour of dryland training
  • 1 hour of field sports changing daily (flag football, soccer, kickball, ultimate Frisbee, and beach day on Friday)
  • 1 hour activity for all campers after dinner

Coaches: LA Kings Alumni Derek Armstrong, Steve Heinze and Goalie Coach Brian Simas

*Pacific Rink will be setting up a booth on Friday for the all camp scrimmage!*

3:30pm-4:30pm On ice evaluation older kids

4:45pm-5:45pm On ice evaluation little kids

5:00pm-6:00pm On-field ice breakers older kids

6:30pm-7:00pm Downtime at dorms

7:00pm-7:45pm Dinner

8:00pm Movie

9:30pm Lights out

Tuesday, July 18

7:30am-8:15am Breakfast

9:00am-10:30am Skills BK / Dryland LK

11:15am-12:15pm 3v3 LK / Dryland BK

12:30pm-2:00pm Lunch
