The LA Kings and Blake Bolden are proud to present Black, Silver & Bold (BSB) a free development program designed to build community, elevate skill, and promote belonging among underrepresented elite youth hockey players and their families in Los Angeles. Now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 season. Please note that completing this application does not guarantee admission to the program.
Now entering its third year, BSB offers monthly programming from September 2025 through June 2026, combining on-ice development with off-ice education, leadership, and cultural engagement. The season kicks off with an intensive training clinic at the Toyota Sports Performance Center and continues with community service projects, mentorship events, virtual learning, and in-person experiences - including Kings home games and access to NHL players, coaches, and front office staff.
Participating players will receive the following, at no cost:
- Year-round monthly educational and social programming
- Leadership, mental wellness, and community service sessions
- Social events including Kings home games and local outings (e.g., LA Galaxy match)
- Career exposure and future hockey planning (for players and parents)
- Skill-building summer training camp at Toyota Sports Performance Center
- On-ice instruction from Kings staff, pro players, and NHL Inclusion Council members
- Guest appearances from NHL players, coaches, and hockey leaders
- Specialty BSB apparel and merchandise
Eligibility:
- Open to elite (AAA / AA) youth ice hockey players, ages 9 - 17
- Must have full on-ice equipment
- Must confirm USA Hockey membership
- Referral coach name, email, or phone number required (from non-parent/guardian)
Applications are now open. A representative from the LA Kings will first contact the coach who referred the athlete, followed by outreach to you with the next steps.
